Manco and Mortimer meet for a crisis conference.

Manco is determined to rejoin the gang.

Mortimer gives him a battle scar to provide him with some credibility.

Manco agrees to persuade Indio to head north where Mortimer can lay an ambush in Rio Bravo Canyon.

LOCATION
Tabernas (Rambla de Tabernas)

SCENE
The gang arrives at Las Palmeras.

SCENE
They shoot at the safe to dislodge its wooden casing.  Manco catches up with them and tries to persuade Indio to head south.

Indo decides to head east for Agua Caliente. "It looks just like a morgue....."

LOCATION
Los Albaricoques

SCENE
They pause outside the town.  Manco is sent into Agua Caliente alone.  

They don't like strangers;  they don't like anyone.

Manco rides in and people run for cover.

SCENE
A dark sombrero appears at the end of the street .....

SCENE
... and then two more.

SCENE
The tension is broken by a boy trying to get apples from an albaricoque tree seen growing on the edge of the village.  Manco shoots some down, aided by Mortimer who has anticipated Indio's decision to head east.

The Sombreros run for it.
