VALDEZ IS COMING 2

Rambla de Tabernas

SCENE
Valdez is distraught and feels it would be right to raise a compensation fund for the dead man's wife. He buries the body and sets out to take the wife, an Apache, to the reservation. He calls at the farm of his old friend Diego.

SCENE
He leaves the woman with Diego while he goes to try and reason with Tanner for a second time at Tanner's spread in the mountains.

Tanner is not amused and has Valdez tied to a cross and sent into the wilderness to die.

Valdez is found by chance and released from his ordeal, on the point of death, by a young jerk who even Tanner had rejected. He manages to make it back to Diego and then home. He is intent on settling the score and exhumes his old army uniform and weaponry.

SCENE
Valdez sets off from town to pursue his mission in the dead of night.

SCENE
He is soon challenged by one of Tanner's lookouts. Valdez tells him to send the message to Tanner that Valdez is coming. With his back to the canyon Valdez watches the man ride off, then re-appear over the ridge intent on killing him. Valdez shoots him and re-sends the wounded man to Tanner with the message - Valdez is coming.

Valdez makes his strike that night. He enters Tanner's bedroom and demands the compensation money for the Indian woman. Tanner is on the point of getting money from the safe when his gang boss arrives to save him. Valdez does what is needed to escape and kidnaps Tanner's woman.

SCENE
Tanner sends the men out to search the canyons and mountains for Valdez and the woman.

Valdez intends to lead the Tanner gang to the mountains, slowly picking them off as he goes. In fact he is caught by the gangmaster who has lost many men and has developed an admiration for Valdez. He decides to desert Tanner in his hour of need and Tanner has to do the dirty work himself. At the final showdown Tanner fails to muster the nerve. Valdez offers an alternative way out - the money. We never find out how it is resolved.
